This permit-focused design and renovation project was carried out in Centre-Wellington, ON. We designed a finished basement, and then performed the renovation work.

 

The existing space was an unfinished basement. The project was performed in order to increase living space and resale value for an upcoming sale. The new basement was designed to maximize usable space & storage, be extremely budget-friendly, and have provisions that would make a future bathroom and bedroom easy to add. Building permits were issued quickly and construction proceeded easily.

The construction included full demolition of existing framing, framing new walls & bulkheads, adding air supply, adding lighting and outlets, modifying sump pump & laundry plumbing, relocating laundry appliances, insulation & vapour barrier installation, managing drywalling / mudding taping / flooring subtrades, painting, doors, trimwork, & new fixtures.

Project was completed in a timely manner, easily passed municipal inspections, and ended up increasing the resale value of the home.
